PEAK Becomes Official Motor Oil and Functional Fluids Partner of USF2000

PALMETTO, FL – The Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda is adding to its growing list of season-ending prizes with the new PEAK Performance Award.  This award will acknowledge drivers that claim the quickest race laps over the course of the series’ 14-event schedule. An automotive market leader for over half a century, the Old World Industries’ brand was recently announced as the Official Motor Oil and Functional Fluids Partner of the Mazda Road to Indy ladder system.

“We are very pleased to welcome PEAK as a partner to the complete Mazda Road to Indy ladder system, and we are delighted to have them as a USF2000 partner,” said Dan Andersen, Owner and CEO of Andersen Promotions, the series promoter. “Our new PEAK Performance Awards are year-end cash prizes to the two drivers who accumulate the highest amount of fast race laps in both the Championship and National Classes. These awards will be greatly appreciated by our competitors, and we welcome the additional promotion provided to our series by the marketing efforts of such an industry leader.”

Known for its trademarked “When you PEAK, you Win” slogan, the PEAK Performance family of products has been involved in motorsports for over 30 years. Products include PEAK® Antifreeze, PEAK® Motor Oil, PEAK® Electronics, PEAK® Wiper Blades, HERCULINER Truck Bed Liners, and BlueDEF™ Diesel Exhaust Fluid. BlueDEF™ is the fastest growing eco-friendly functional fluid in the North American heavy duty marketplace and is expected to reach more than one billion gallons of yearly consumer demand over the next decade. PEAK products are marketed in 30 countries around the world.

At present, USF2000 competitors vie for over $500,000 in year-end awards and prize money. As the first official step on the Mazda Road to Indy, the Championship class winner receives a scholarship package from Mazda valued at $375,000 to advance to the Star Mazda championship in 2013. The National Class winner receives a scholarship package to advance to the Championship Class in 2013.

In addition to finishing position awards, other season-end acknowledgements include the Tilton Hard Charger Award to the driver who gains the most positions during the season; the USF2000 Spirit Award given to the team or driver that embodies the “heart of a champion” as they aspire to reach their goals; the Bosch Mechanic of the Year Award: and the tongue-in-cheek Golden Wishbone Award for the team that logs the most “frequent flyer miles” at Carl Haas Auto – USF2000’s official parts partner.

The 2012 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda will open at the 60th Annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida on March 15 and 16 in support of the American Le Mans Series. A series’ record-setting grid will be on deck with over 30 entries expected for the season-opening pair of races.
