After years of success around the world in other forms of motor sport, BNRacing burst onto the Road to Indy scene in 2017, in a partial season in USF2000 that included some headline results.
Fast forward less than three years and BNRacing has become an established front running team, with poles, fastest laps, race wins and can boast podiums across all three tiers of the Road to Indy. Renowned for attention to detail, from the cars to its drivers, BNRacing encompasses a professional, modern approach to racing and an instilled desire for success.
With leadership from brothers Nicholas and Dominic Cape, Cape Motorsports campaigns cars in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship - winning the last nine championship titles in a row, and 13 in total.
The goal of Cape Motorsports is to provide unmatched driver development both on and off the track. It is difficult for a young driver to jump into a professional series and win, regardless of talent. Through coaching and mentoring, Cape Motorsports provides young drivers with as much knowledge of motorsports to become as successful as possible.
The Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD) team was set up with a focus of providing the very best race team in the junior ranks of open wheel racing. Fielding cars in the major American open-wheel development series, Jay is giving back to the sport he dearly loves, teaching his drivers the secrets of winning races, championships and being leaders. Having achieved much success in his career, passing this experience onto his drivers and watching them develop is a passion of Jay’s. Jay has worked hard to put the best people around him and his program, from ex-F1/IndyCar engineers and mechanics, to the latest technology and software to separate JHDD from the rest. Jay has purposely left no stone unturned with his team’s preparation in order to best prepare his drivers both short term and long term. No matter what the drivers’ goals are, JHDD delivers.
Legacy Autosport is run by the Meyer family, whose grandfather and great grandfather was Louis Meyer, the first three-time champion of the Indianapolis 500. The legacy perseveres, with the younger Meyers continuing the winning ways of the family. Legacy Autosport is focused on driver development with a goal of helping drivers become successful on the Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires and beyond.
Legacy Autosport is based in Lebanon, Indiana, just outside of Indianapolis and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the heart of the Motor Racing Capital of the World. Louis “Mike” Meyer has a season of experience in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship in the Road to Indy as a winning crew chief for Alex Baron, including the Indianapolis Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Mike, the Owner/Team Manager/Crew Chief, has spent the previous 13 years in Indy Lights, winning five championships, countless race wins, pole positions and four Freedom 100 wins at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Louis “Butch” Meyer brings a story book career in automobile racing which includes building IndyCar motors with several manufactures and teams, five years as technical director of the Indy Lights program and ownership of an Indy Lights team.
Pabst Racing has been preparing winning race cars since 1983. The Pabst team was started by Augie Pabst Jr., former sports car racing legend from the 1950s and early 1960s who won many races and championships throughout his career. Current President Augie Pabst III (a former driver as well) took over the business in 1991. By 1998 Augie III decided to focus on owning and maintaining a wide variety of winning racecars including SCCA Spec Racer, Shelby Can-Am, 911 Porsche, Ford Mustang GT-1 and primarily Van Diemen Formula 2000 cars.
Winners of the 2017, 2018 and 2019 USF2000 team championship, Pabst Racing will field squads in both the USF2000 Championship and the Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires in 2021.
Benik Motorsport Group LLC joined the Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires in 2018 after years of successful karting seasons in North America. The campaign in USF2000 will be bred through a similar program to the top line US Benik Kart team which has taken several drivers to success. Owned and operated by long-time karting industry member Nick Mitchell, Benik Motorsport Group operates out of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where the team’s USF2000 cars are prepared. Combining the expertise of personnel from both teams, Benik Motorsport Group will provide great technical expertise when the Benik squad take to the track.
Making a name for themselves in several open wheel series in 2019 and 2020, Velocity Racing Development captured the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda this season. In 2021, the team joins the Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires with a multi-car effort. Set to compete with a pair of Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship entries and one Indy Pro 2000 Presented by Cooper Tires competitor, the Atlanta Motorsports Park-based program will aim to continue their successes in two of the most challenging divisions in North American motorsports.
Led by Dan Mitchell, the British born Engineer / Team Owner is all hands on deck as he is the backbone of the VRD program, while his worldwide connections in motorsports attract drivers from many different disciplines to open wheel racing.
