Evagoras Papasavvas is healthy and ready to get the 2023 season underway

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.
– After a karting injury forced a delay to the start of his 2022 season, Evagoras Papasavvas is healthy and ready to go in 2023. With his first trip and wheel-to-wheel action set for this coming weekend at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, Evagoras has his sights set high for the first round of the newly named USF Pro Championships ladder program as he will do battle in USF2000 Presented by Cooper Tires with Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD).

“I was set to race in St. Pete and the complete USF2000 series last year, but a karting injury and surgery forced me to the sidelines,” explained Papasavvas. “Now, in 2023 I am healthy and ready to go. I have experience under my belt and knowledge from the last half of 2022 that will help me this year. We have my goals set high and look forward to checking those boxes beginning this weekend in St. Pete.”

Despite being out of the seat for the first half of last season, Papasavvas had several strong finishes to close out 2022 including impressive performances in Toronto and Portland.

“Evagoras has been quite impressive for the little seat time that he has in cars,” explained team boss Jay Howard. “He jumped straight into racing last year after very little testing due to his injury. Now, in 2023, he has had a complete off-season to prepare, he has been testing, and working hard in the gym. While it is his first trip to the barrier-lined circuit of St. Pete, I think he will turn some heads and do quite well.”

Papasavvas added, “I am just looking to get the official race season started and working to achieve the goals both Jay and I have set.”

Papasavvas and the rest of the USF2000 Presented by Cooper Tires grid will hit the track on Friday, March 3 for their one and only practice session on the Streets of St. Pete before qualifying takes place that afternoon. Race one of the doubleheader weekend will take the green flag Saturday afternoon with race two on Sunday morning.
