Majman, Nanji, Rousseau Top Timing Charts at Indianapolis

PALMETTO, Fla. – The 2026 USF Pro Championships Presented by Continental Tire season officially concluded today at the Indianapolis Grand Prix road course in Speedway, Ind., following the second of two days that comprised the traditional USF Pro Fall Combine test.

All three levels on the world-renowned open-wheel racing ladder – USF Pro 2000, USF2000 and USF Juniors – were in action on the 2.439-mile track with the Pabst Racing pair of Brad Majman and Lucas Nanji topping the charts in USF Pro 2000 and USF2000 respectively, and Zanella Racing’s Gianmarco Rousseau pacing the slim field of USF Juniors.

Three different drivers topped at least one of the six sessions for USF Pro 2000, although it was Majman’s time of 1:21.1681, an average speed of 108.176 mph, from this morning which proved to be the fastest of all. But not by much.

Majman, from Melbourne, Australia, who won three races this year en route to second place in the USF2000 championship, stepped up to the faster USF Pro 2000 car with aplomb. He was quickest of all on Saturday with a time of 1:21.2209, then went a little faster this morning to edge Anthony Martella, from Woodbridge, Ont., Canada. Martella thereby continued the form shown this year by Exclusive Autosport, which guided Texan Jack Jeffers to the championship and a scholarship valued at almost $600,000 to graduate to INDY NXT in 2027.

Martella improved to 1:21.2212 in today’s second session, while Vivek Kanthan, from New York, N.Y., almost matched that time, 1:21.22.73, while topping the charts in the final outing for Turn 3 Motorsport. After two seasons in the Spanish Formula 4 championship, Kanthan thoroughly impressed on his USF Pro Championships debut with the Teams Championship-winning organization.

Thomas Schrage, from Bethel, Ohio, was fourth fastest overall for a fourth different team, TJ Speed Motorsports, among a tightly packed field which saw the top 11 bracketed by a little over half-a-second.

Evan Cooley (Exclusive Autosport), from Mokena, Ill., and JT Hoskins (JHDD powered by ECR), from Sarasota, Fla., and Eddie Beswick (Pabst Racing), from Sydney, Australia, rounded out the top six, all within three-tenths of the fastest time.

Others to shine included local drivers Logan Adams, ninth fastest in his small family-run Comet/NCMP Racing team, and Elliot Cox, who was 10th overall despite contesting only the first day with JHDD powered by ECR.

Nanji didn’t quite enjoy the perfect weekend in USF2000, but he came close. Fastest in every session except the last one, Nanji, from Montreal, Que., Canada, was the pacesetter from the start. He continued Pabst Racing’s strong form this season which ended with seven wins from the 18 races and culminated in yet another Teams Championship.

Nanji’s best lap, 1:24.7287, an average speed of 103.630 mph, was set on Saturday afternoon and proved fractionally faster than the existing race lap record of 1:24.7440 set by USF2000 champion Braden Eves way back in 2019.

Recently crowned USF Juniors champion Karol Pasiewicz, from Lodz, Poland, pushed Nanji for most of the weekend. The rising star for Olivia Racing was quickest of all this afternoon, although his fastest lap, 1:24.9452, was set this morning when he was just over 0.02 seconds away from Nanji’s best.

Remarkably, seven different teams were represented among the top seven positions at the conclusion of the test. Also stepping up from USF Juniors, Brenden Cooley (Exclusive Autosport) ended up third ahead of Cole Medeiros (VRD Racing), from Ayr, Ont., Canada, Mexican Elias Vignola (DEForce Racing), South African Wian Boshoff (PFH Racing) and Canadian Olivier Mrak (Zanella Racing).

After making an impressive USF Juniors debut in the final event of the season last month at Road America which included a podium finish, Rousseau, from Panama City, Panama, continued to make his mark with Zanella Racing this weekend. Rousseau, who turned a best time of 1:29.8007, an average speed of 97.77 mph, represented the 14th different nationality among the USF Juniors field this season. He was the only driver to dip below the 1:30 barrier.

Fellow 14-year-old Juan Garciarce, from Guadalajara, Mexico, was fastest in two of the six sessions for DEForce Racing and was the only one within a half-second of Rousseau’s benchmark time.

Exclusive Autosport’s Jack Cushman, from Westport, Conn., Mason Ward (PFH Racing), from nearby Carmel, Ind., and Adam Sana (JHDD powered by ECR), from New York, N.Y., completed the top five.

The full 2027 calendar will be announced in the near future, following finalization of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES schedule.
