ELKHART LAKE, Wisc. – Florida driver Darren Keane will make his return to the challenging 14-turn 4.1-mile road course of Road America this weekend with his Cape Motorsports team in search of his first Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship victory.

The 19-year-old University of Florida engineering student is coming off a runner-up finish on the road course at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and a seventh-place result at the Freedom 75 on the oval at Lucas Oil Raceway, and these two finishes have positioned him third in points coming into Road America.

Keane will take to the track early Friday morning to begin his doubleheader weekend with the sole focus on gaining championship points and his first victory on the Road To Indy Presented by Cooper Tires. This will be Darren’s third time at Road America and he plans to use his experience to capitalize on the opportunity to cut the gap on the current point leader.

“I’m really looking forward to Road America this weekend,” Keane enthused, having just wrapped up his freshman year at the University of Florida. “It’s one of my favorite tracks and I love the high-speed corners. I’m ready for a great weekend and looking to score some really good points.

Darren will be on-track on Friday for one 30-minute practice session at 8:00 am CST followed by qualifying for the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Race 1. Saturday’s schedule will begin early again with qualifying for Race 2 starting the track action for the day, followed up by Race 1 in the afternoon. The weekend will be completed early Sunday morning with the second race of the doubleheader.
