Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing had three top-10 finishes in the Allied Building Products USF2000 Oval Challenge, Round 7 of the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda at Lucas Oil Raceway in the 69th Annual Visit Hendricks County Night Before the 500.

Frenchman Florian Latorre, driving the No. 10, started from the pole in the caution-free 75-lap race. Keyvan Andres Soori of Germany started the No. 3 in seventh, and American Jake Eidson, driving the No. 2, started 17th.

Latorre led the race for the first 24 laps, but was unable to hold off the hard-charging pack behind him. He finished sixth, but did produce the fastest lap of the race. Andres Soori finished on the lead lap in eighth.

Eidson, who started 17th after almost losing control of his car in Turn Two during his qualifying run, finished ninth to earn the Tilton Hard Charger Award.

“We are happy with the results from all three drivers,” said Dominic and Nicholas Cape. “It was a fast race, and we’re pleased that we had clean, hard racing. Thanks to the drivers and crew. We’re looking forward to a bit of a break before we head to Toronto.”

After seven rounds, Latorre is second in the point standings, only nine points behind the leader (150-141). Eidson is third with 129. Andres Soori is 15th.  Cape Motorsports has a 35-point lead in the team standings.

After a busy May, the USF2000 Championship will get a much-deserved break. The next two rounds of the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda will take place in support of the Verizon IndyCar Series on the streets of Toronto, Canada, on July 19/20
