WINDERMERE, Fla. – Leonardo Escorpioni delivered an impressive performance this past weekend on the Streets of St. Petersburg, earning two third-place podium finishes in the opening round of the USF2000 Championship Presented by Continental Tire alongside the NTT INDYCAR SERIES.

Competing with Zanella Racing, Escorpioni showcased poise and pace throughout the weekend, converting strong qualifying performances into back-to-back podium results on the tight and unforgiving street circuit. Pushing hard in the second wheel-to-wheel race of the weekend and challenging for the lead late in the race, Escorpioni was unable to make his move for the lead stick, ultimately finishing in the third position. 

The double podium marks a strong debut weekend for the reigning USF Juniors titleholder, who captured the 2025 championship before making the jump to USF2000 this season. Facing a highly competitive field and the unique challenge of a temporary street course, Escorpioni demonstrated that his racecraft and consistency translate seamlessly to the next level of the USF ladder.

“Starting the season with two podiums feels amazing,” said Escorpioni. “St. Petersburg is such a challenging track with no room for mistakes, so to come away with two third-place finishes in my first USF2000 weekend is something I am really proud of. The team gave me a great car and we executed when it mattered. This is a strong foundation to build on but we are hungry for more. Very happy with the weekend overall.”

Escorpioni remained calm under pressure in both races, navigating close battles and changing track conditions to secure valuable early championship points. His performance immediately positions him as one to watch in the 2026 title fight.

Escorpioni continued, “We have some news coming up very soon, but to give you a hint, I will be in Arlington in a few weeks.”

With momentum on his side and confidence growing at every level, Escorpioni’s USF2000 campaign is off to a powerful start.
