ORLANDO, Fla. – Leonardo Escorpioni is set to make his highly anticipated debut in USF2000 Presented by Continental Tire this weekend on the Streets of St. Petersburg, Florida, marking the opening round of the 2026 season. Competing alongside the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, Escorpioni will pilot the #55 entry for Zanella Racing as he begins his campaign to fight for the championship title.

The event, held on the iconic downtown street circuit, will see Escorpioni enter the weekend carrying strong momentum following his championship-winning season in the USF Juniors series in 2025. Demonstrating consistency, racecraft and composure throughout the year, the young driver now looks to carry that success into the next step on the Road to Indy ladder.

“I am very excited to start my USF2000 season in St. Pete,” said Escorpioni, who has been testing faster machinery this off-season. “Winning the championship last year gave me a lot of confidence and I am ready for this next challenge. Racing on a street circuit alongside INDYCAR is an incredible opportunity and I am focused on learning as much as possible and fighting for strong results. The goal is to compete for the championship and this is where that journey begins.”

With a championship already to his name and a strong team behind him, Escorpioni heads into the 2026 season determined to make an immediate impact and continue his rise through the ranks of open-wheel racing. The race weekend schedule will begin Friday, February 27, with practice, qualifying, and Race One. The event will conclude on Sunday with Race Two, giving Escorpioni two opportunities to establish himself early in the championship standings.
