Cliff Dempsey Racing is delighted to announce that 16 year-old American Trent Hindman is the first driver signing for the Irish squad's Formula Renault BARC Championship effort.

Hindman, a Team USA Scholarship driver in 2011, will drive for Cliff Dempsey Racing in the Formula Renault BARC Championship in 2012 as part of a multi-championship campaign, that will also witness the talented teenager compete in the USF2000 National Championship with Cape Motorsport with Wayne Taylor Racing. As part of an association between the two teams, Hindman will use the Formula Renault program with Cliff Dempsey Racing to gain more valuable experience and seat time.

“We are absolutely delighted to have Trent drive with us," said Team Principal Cliff Dempsey. "He drove one of our Kent Formula Ford Ray cars as part of the Team USA Scholarship at the Formula Ford Festival and Walter Hayes Trophy in 2011, and we were very impressed with him. We are looking forward to a good year."

Cliff Dempsey Racing is delighted with the response to their switch to Formula Renault competition, as there has been a lot of interest, and the squad hopes to announce a second driver very soon.

The 2012 Formula Renault BARC Championship is slated to commence on April 7-8, with the opening rounds at the Snetterton Circuit. Prior to making his series debut, Hindman will contest the Cooper Tires Winterfest in preparation for his Cooper Tires Presents the USF2000 National Championship powered by Mazda campaign.
