Keane Eyeing Redemption During Indianapolis Return

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – Cape Motorsports driver Darren Keane will make his return to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course this weekend after dominating the time charts in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Chris Griffis Memorial test outing last October.

After a two-month hiatus following the season opener at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg in March, the 19-year-old American will contest Rounds 3 and 4 of the series, as the event commences this coming Thursday with a pair unofficial tests on the 2.439-mile, 14-turn circuit. As he prepares for the weekend doubleheader, Keane is looking to rebound from a last lap incident in the second race at St. Pete, and has a laser focus on gaining crucial championship points.

“I can’t wait to be back to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway,” enthused Keane, who his wrapping up his freshman year of engineering at the University of Florida.  “I’m looking forward to having a great weekend and enjoying myself. I’m going to learn as much as I can and hopefully get some good points in the process. Cape Motorsports and I are ready to attack the weekend.”

Darren will be on-track starting on Thursday with two test sessions followed by an official practice. Friday’s schedule will consist of two qualifying sessions and the opening race of the Cooper Tires Grand Prix of Indianapolis. On Saturday morning, he will compete in the second race of the doubleheader.
