Legacy eSeries
With the Road To Indy Presented By Cooper Tires 2020 season in our rear-view mirrors, we are now focused ahead to 2021 and to a new season of TireRack.com iRacing. Legacy Autosport is excited to be back again, this time partnering with Marotti Autosport to feature drivers Simon Sikes and Andre Castro. In last year’s TireRack.com eSeries, Legacy and Castro had numerous top-five finishes and claimed victory four times.

“I'm excited to be racing in the 2021 eSeries with my brand-new sim! It's all coming together quite last minute, so I'll still be getting to grips with my new setup by the time the season starts, but nonetheless I think it will be a fun season with some great competition,” said Castro.

“I'm diving into the unknown with my new sim setup, so if I'm able to match the pace I had last year, I'm sure I'll be near the front and have a chance at some wins.

“I'd like to gain some experience with the PM-18 at tracks the Road to Indy will be visiting this year, such as Road America and Mid-Ohio. Pushing myself to the limit on these virtual circuits will hopefully prepare me if the opportunity does come up to race this season. I'm also looking forward to enjoying myself and giving it my best shot!”

Simon Sikes, driver of the #20 Medi-share / Metalloid USF2000 car said: “I’m very excited to join the Road To Indy eSeries this year. Unfortunately, I wasn’t eligible to compete last year, but I watched every single race and did as many league series as I could to emulate the competition level I would face in the Road To Indy. I’ve been using iRacing as a preparation tool since 2014 and I’m pleased that the Road To Indy is using the service for their own series. I can’t wait for it to start!

“Obviously there are some incredibly talented drivers in the lineup, who I know to be quick in real life and on the sim. I don’t have a fancy or expensive setup (G29 steering wheel with Fanatec V3 pedals), but I have put in a tremendous amount of effort to be able to compete with the top drivers in iRacing, and I’m hoping to bring my experience and speed to the RTI TireRack.com eSeries.

“I’m excited to compete against some drivers in Indy Pro 2000 and Indy Lights that I would not normally compete against in real life. I would also like to solidify my belief that it doesn’t take a $10,000 iRacing setup to be fast and compete against the best. I’m hoping that my Logitech steering wheel and I can surprise a few people. Lastly, I’m hoping to learn a few things about my competitors. While iRacing isn’t real life, people tend to drive in a similar fashion on the simulator as they do in real life. I’d like to pick up a few clues about my fellow USF2000 drivers and get a head start on what it will be like to race against them this year."

Louis Michael Meyer (Owner of Legacy Autosport) said: “I am really looking forward to the new season of iRacing, carrying our continued partnership with Marotti Autosport into the virtual Road to Indy and giving Simon and Andre everything they need to compete for wins.

“We are all so excited to get the eSeries underway and continue building the relationships with everyone involved. Last year, series officials, team owners and drivers all worked together leading up to each race to make it the best events possible. As a team owner, I look at this as a virtual Chris Griffis test. You can see the talent these young drivers have and who could be the next up-and-coming star on the real-life tracks.”

And with the 2021 USF2000 and Indy Pro 2000 season approaching quickly and only one Indy Pro 2000 seat left to be filled this may open the door for a driver to claim that spot and be a part of the Legacy Driver Development Program.
