Canadian set for USF2000 debut on the Streets of St. Pete
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Rising Canadian talent Lucas Nanji is set to make his USF2000 Presented by Continental Tire debut with Pabst Racing, marking the start of his first full season in single-seater competition in the United States.
Following the completion of his final karting season in 2024, Nanji shifted his focus toward car racing, dedicating his efforts to testing and development with several teams as he prepared for the next step in his career. As part of that transition, he competed in the final round of the Italian Formula 4 Championship at Monza with Prema Racing, gaining valuable experience in a highly competitive single-seater environment.
Now, the young Canadian takes the next major step by joining Pabst Racing for his rookie USF2000 campaign. As one of the most historic and respected teams in the paddock, Pabst Racing, a multi-time championship-winning effort, provides Nanji with a strong platform to accelerate his development within the INDYCAR ladder system.
“This is an exciting moment in my career,” explained Nanji. “Moving from karting into single-seaters is a big step, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to do it with Pabst Racing. My goal this season is simple — learn as much as possible, improve every weekend and build a strong foundation for the future.”
The 2026 season will serve as a crucial development year for Nanji as he adapts to the demands of professional open-wheel racing in North America. With a clear focus on progression and consistency, the mission for his rookie campaign is straightforward: learn, learn, learn.
Nanji will make his USF2000 debut this weekend in the #24 Pabst Racing entry at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, running alongside the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and INDY NXT by Firestone season openers as well as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
