Pabst Racing Makes First Announcement in Preparation for the 2014 Season

OCONOMOWOC, Wis. - The Pabst Racing team is proud to announce that they have added 18-year-old Will Owen to their Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda lineup for 2014. He will drive the #23 American Medical Response/Pabst Racing USF2000 car in both the series championship and Cooper Tires Winterfest.

The High School Senior has amassed a great deal of experience in the Rotax Challenge of the America's, Florida Winter Tour, SKUSA Supernationals and other series since 2010 and was recently ranked 20th in e-karting news' Tag Senior National rankings. Prior to testing with Pabst Racing, Owen had a successful racing season in 2013 in a Formula Mazda with both wins and podium finishes in a number of races to develop a foundation and understanding of bigger cars.

Owen is looking forward to the opportunity with Pabst Racing and knows that the key to success in professional motorsports is consistency and keeping focused through challenges.

"First, I want to thank Kartsport North America and Texas Autosports who have been key to my development so far," said Owen.  "2014 will give me the opportunity to improve my abilities as a driver more than ever before. I feel confident that with the help of the Pabst Racing team I can enhance my skills, overcome new challenges and be successful at the next level in a more competitive field. I have been very impressed with their knowledge and success and want to thank Pabst Racing for giving me the chance to race in the USF2000 series next year."

In preparation for this season, Owen has been working both on track and off track to be ready as Winterfest approaches.

"In order to prepare for the season, I am taking advantage of the testing opportunities I have with both Pabst Racing in the USF2000 car and Texas Autosports in the Formula Mazda car," Owen added. "I have also been taking fitness very seriously and I believe that one of the keys to success will be my physical ability to perform when driving."

His focus and talent has proven to Pabst Racing that he has what it takes to be successful in the USF2000 Championship.

"We are very happy to announce that Will Owen will be a part of our team next season," said team owner Augie Pabst. "He has shown us during testing that he has the talent and mindset to work hard. During the first test, he impressed us immediately with his car control in challenging conditions on a cold, wet track. We are looking forward to great results with him."

Pabst Racing is currently preparing for the Winterfest championship and will be announcing more drivers in the coming weeks.
