Vancouver, BC. – Vancouverite Scott Hargrove has been nominated for Team Canada’s coveted Racing Scholarship. Team Canada’s selection committee announced this morning the top 10 young and talented Canadian drivers who have been nominated for this scholarship. Hargrove is the only driver from British Columbia and Western Canada to be nominated.

“I’m honored to have been nominated for such prestigious program," said Hargrove. "Having the chance to represent all of Canada at one of Europe’s biggest Formula Ford races is absolutely incredible. The narrowing down of candidates will be starting soon and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us!”

One driver from this talented group will be selected to represent Team Canada in the 2012 edition of the Formula Ford Festival at the Brands Hatch circuit outside of Kent, England, on October 27-28.  With all the candidates slated to be back on-track in their respective series over the upcoming Labour Day weekend (September 1-2), the selection committee has another opportunity to watch and evaluate, before narrowing down the search prior to the final selection.

One week away, Hargrove will have a chance to impress the selection committee on the Streets of Baltimore alongside the IZOD IndyCar Series on an exciting 12-turn course that snakes through the heart of downtown Baltimore and along the Inner Harbor. Hargrove is driving the #38 car for JDC MotorSports in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda.

“I can hardly wait to get back behind the wheel; this is going to be an amazing course to compete on and an exhilarating weekend,” stated Hargrove.
