Vancouver, BC – Fresh on the heels of winning the 2013 USF2000 Championship, Scott Hargrove of Surrey, BC, will represent Canada at the 2013 British Formula Ford Festival (www.teamcanadaracing.org) October 21st to 27th. Hargrove was selected from four finalists all competing in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda, part of the Mazda Road to Indy. The selection was based on many factors, including his on track performance, his off‐track representation and media-friendly personality.

Hargrove commented on his selection: “I am very honoured to be selected for this year’s Team Canada Scholarship! Thank you to all the supporters and everyone involved to make this happen. 2013 has been an amazing year and racing at the historic Formula Ford Festival will be an incredible way to cap it off!"

Team Canada founder Brian Graham stated: “Once again it has been a difficult decision to select just one from the talented pool of drivers we had nominated from the USF2000 Series. The interviews were all very good and any one of the young finalists would have been worthy. In the end, Scott’s performance on track as well as his off track work and presence really impressed us."

Hargrove has been supported throughout his amazing rise through the motorsports ranks by Analytic Systems. Company President James Hargrove had this to say about the selection: “We have been proud to support Scott from Day One, through karting, Skip Barber and now USF2000. This selection by the Team Canada Scholarship only serves to further validate our decision to support Scott on his journey to the IndyCar Series.”

The Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda debuted in 2010 and is a revival of the highly regarded USF2000 series which ran from 1990 through 2006, launching the careers of many of today’s top drivers. Sanctioned by INDYCAR, the series is the first official step on the Mazda Road to Indy ‐ a clearly defined path to reach the top echelons of the sport. In addition to providing a vital training ground for rising stars, the top driver in the Championship Class will earn a scholarship package from Mazda to advance to the Pro Mazda Championship, the next step on the ladder system.

Team Canada helps fund opportunities for Canada's young up-and-coming racing athletes with the goal to "send our best" to contest in front of a world class audience. The annual Formula Ford Festival, held at Brands Hatch in the UK every fall, is an event that presents racer athletes the opportunity to compete on a world stage... where he or she will face one of the largest, most competitive Formula Ford grids in the world!
