Colorado driver will support a local charity as he takes in the 'Night Before the 500' at Lucas Oil Raceway this Memorial Day weekend

Fort Collins, Colorado - Scott Anderson, the 2011 Skip Barber National Champion and MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development Scholarship recipient, will run this weekend's 'Night Before the 500' in support of the OtterCares® Foundation of Fort Collins, Colorado. Anderson, also a native of Fort Collins, is using the 'Road to Indy' platform to raise awareness of the many excellent charities in his home state. The OtterCares Foundation was established in 2010 as the charitable arm of OtterBox®. Committed to the principle that "To whom much is given, much is expected", Nancy Richardson, OtterCares President, and her husband Curt Richardson, OtterBox Founder and CEO, created the foundation with the intent of giving back to the community that has supported the company's growth and success over the years.

"Racing in the USF2000 series and the Mazda Road to Indy program have given me a fantastic opportunity to get the word out about some great charities in Colorado. Everyone at OtterCares is amazing and they do incredible work throughout Colorado and the country. I am proud to be putting them on my car starting with one of the biggest races of the year," comments Scott Anderson.

The 2012 Cooper Tires USF2000 presented by Mazda series will head to Lucas Oil Raceway on May 25th and 26th as part of the Indianapolis 500 festivities. Along with a full field of up and coming racers, Anderson will take to the track this Friday for a three-hour test session. The racing action gets underway on Saturday the 26th with practice and qualifying, followed by a 75-lap feature race under the lights. Solid testing and hard work leading up to the only oval race on the calendar has Anderson excited about his chances.

"Everyone on the Belardi Auto Racing team has been working hard to prepare the car. The testing we did earlier this month went well and I can't wait to get to the track," said Anderson with a smile. "I like the idea of running an oval race, especially right before the Indy 500. It's very cool to be a part of the program."

An expert skier, the Fort Collins, Colorado resident joins the MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development ladder after winning the 2011 BFGoodrich/Skip Barber National Championship Presented by Mazda and is racing in the 2012 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda with Belardi Auto Racing. Anderson would like to thank MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development, Skip Barber Racing School, Laser Nail Centers of Colorado and Neuropathy Testing Centers for their support. Anderson is also a member of the Derek Daly Academy led by former Formula One driver Derek Daly.

Away from the track, Anderson resides and attends college in Fort Collins, Colorado. Learn more about Scott Anderson at www.scottandersonracing.com.
