The engines are ready to roar again in the first official event for the drivers who will contest 2020 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship. At last weekend’s official series test at Homestead-Miami Speedway, the DEForce Racing team and young Brazilian Kiko Porto (No. 12 Banco Daycoval / Petromega / DEForce Racing / Speed Group) spent the five sessions evaluationg components and setting details for the start of the new season.

After finishing runner-up in the US F4 Championship Powered by Honda last year, Porto and his team decided to take a step up to 2020 and join the first rung on the Road To Indy Presented by Cooper Tires – the road for those who want to reach the NTT IndyCar Series. In this first official test in his new category, the pilot from Brazil showed his consistency, pacing just three-tenths from the leader in one of the test sessions.

“It is a new year, a new category and a new challenge for me. We managed to test a lot in the car and I am happy to drive fast and be among those who already have experience in this series. We still have a lot of work ahead of us, but I believe we will be strong for the first race,” said the Brazilian racer, after a weekend of hard work
