Robinson Motor Sports, Inc. is proud to announce the signing of Eric Filgueiras to drive one of the team's Formula Enterprises for the first race of the 2012 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda at Sebring, Florida.

Mick Robinson, team owner, stated: “I have been working with Eric and we have come to an agreement for Eric to race one of our cars at the Sebring event March 15th and 16th.  We are in further discussions to complete the rest of the race series with several sponsors so it looks promising that Eric will be a contender for the 2012 National class championship."

Filgueiras was invited to the Mazda Road to Indy Scouting Combine at Andersen RacePark where he drove a Championship class car. Filgueiras has won several races and a championship in karts and in the family-owned F500 in SCCA national races.

“I have had several tests in the Championship USF2000 cars which has set my direction in racing to the Mazda Road to Indy. Formula Enterprises is the entry level for the series with a lower cost than the F2000 cars that will also compete in the events. Robinson Motor Sports has an outstanding record of running the cars, so it was a natural choice for me to sign with them,” Filgueiras said.

Robinson Motor Sports, Inc. is a two-time National Champion in the Formula Enterprises cars and has had many top-three runs in the SCCA Pro Series and the Runoffs with several different drivers. The team holds nine current track records with four different drivers.  The use of the Competition Data Systems and GoPro video systems that we use help us set up the cars and work with the drivers after each on track session.

Team Manager and Crew Chief Mark Eaton has extensive knowledge of the data systems and is a two-time National Champion driving the Formula Enterprises race car.
