Andretti Autosport’s Spencer Pigot held off charging series champion Petri Suvanto in a last-lap shootout on the streets of Baltimore, Md., this morning to claim his third win of the season. Pigot, who started on pole in the #8 Team MAZDASPEED/Skip Barber entry, maintained his advantage at the start and fought off challenges from, firstly, yesterday’s race winner, Wayne Boyd, and then Suvanto to take the checkered flag just .314s ahead of the Finn.

Petri Suvanto has his sights set firmly on clinching the coveted Cooper Tires Presents the USF2000 National Championship Powered by Mazda title this weekend when the series heads to Baltimore, Md., for the final two races of the season.

The Cooper Tires Presents the USF2000 National Championship Presented by Mazda field experienced their first wet race of the year this morning in Round 10 of competition held at Road America. In the end, it was series points leader Petri Suvanto of Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing who emerged victorious in the rain-shortened race. The 18-year-old from Nurmo, Finland, extended his championship lead with his fifth win of the season.
